Picture this...when you meet someone, they are like a house on a property with a gated fence around it, and you know nothing of what is inside, as you stand outside the gate. Sometimes the gate is locked and a "stay out" sign is even posted, so all you can do is peer through the gate and see very little. Sometimes the gate is opened, and you are invited to enjoy the yard, or even the front porch of the house, where you occasionally get to visit with the owner. Closer friends or family are freely invited into the house, to various rooms, but never the master bedroom suite, except for spouse. And certainly not the secret vault or closet. Everyone has their most secret inner heart chambers known only to them.

God, too, uses just such an illustration, in the privilege of knowing Him. In Scripture, we see the wilderness Tabernacle, or Jerusalem Temple. The nations were outside, beyond the camp of the Lord. The people of God could come to the gate, or outer courtyard, while only the priests could enter the Holy Place, and the High Priest alone could enter the Holy of Holies, behind the veil, once a year, on the appointed Day of Atonement. Not only was this an exclusive privilege, but he had to be purified 7 days, wear priestly garments, have a sacrifice performed to cover his sin, and come with the blood of the lamb. He had the unique place of standing in the very Presence of God, speaking His Name, knowing and seeing God for who He is, as no-one else did.

Jesus, who became our sacrifice and is called our High Priest, entered God's Presence in the Heavenly Most Holy Place with His own Blood. Scripture says the veil in the Jerusalem Temple was torn in two (Mark 15:38), signalling that access had been made. The way was open. Jesus is called "the Door" (John 10:7).

What an amazing picture! The door to God's MOST SECRET CHAMBER OF HIS HEART IS OPEN!

We can know Him! Intimately! Nothing is hidden, closed, barred, gated. We can know ALL about this Great King of the Universe! How courageous is God to lay everything inside Him bare for us to see and know openly.

And He invites YOU, into His most secret inner heart. To come, commune, see, taste, know.

Will you come?

..........................................

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

Psalm 27:5 "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret places of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me upon a rock. "

Matthew 6:6 " But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly."

The word "secret" in these verses is seter in Hebrew, which means to cover, veil, shelter, hide, protect, secret, conceal, close, not known.
